Choirs Questions? Sponsors Volunteer Forms About the Skyview Choir Boosters
Skyview Choirs

Q: My Child is not in a traveling Choir, Where does the points for their personal account for any fundraising they have done go?

A: This year, 2009-2010, Concert Choir, Advanced Women's Choir and Orchestra will be traveling to competitions. Additionally the boosters also use general funds to assist the music program with non travel expenses for choir members with financial needs (outfits, uniform fees, Music for the choirs...etc) The personal points earned by an individual student carry forward in their personal account to next year. The music programs are designed to be multi-year experiences and individual fund-raising builds to the time when they will be competing.

Q: How can I get involved with the Boosters?

A: Just show up at any meetings, help at concerts, drive kids around. (Be aware that if your going to drive for a school sponsored choir event you MUST have a WA. state background check completed before you can drive any students) Other than your own of course.

Another way to get involved is to send us an e-mail to Skyview Choirs Information. We are currently looking for a Fund raiser, as well as other opportunties.

Q: Where do the funds raised by the boosters/kids go?

A: Since we are a 501 C 3 non profit all funds raised go to support the choir program at Skyview High. Historically we’ve assisted students individually and large group with the purchase of outfits so all can be included, we’ve purchased music for the choral program, we’ve helped off set the cost of travel expenses allowing the group to use charter vs. school buses to competitions and on tour, bought food for the entire program, caught meals for students on tours, etc....

KEY FUNDRAISING ANSWER – While we keep records of each students fund-raising contributions, and provide opportunities for them to raise funds doing various activities, all points raised through fundraisers technically belong to the nonprofit and must be spent for what they are earmarked. Don’t think of this a savings account.

In the event that a student leaves the choir program with a balance in their fundraising accounts the points revert to the general fund of the choir boosters.
